There's a lot to love about Britannia Village. I Love BV celebrates the best things about community life in this part of the London Borough of Newham and encourages us to build and BelieVe in Better and look forward to the future.

360 degree view of britannia Village Hall by Clare Moran Britannia Village Hall is the hub and heart of Village activities. It provides a place where carers can meet; where there are daily supervised groups for toddlers, children and young people and a host of social and sports activities for everyone in our community.

BV's Got Talent too! Our young people are brimming with potential and apart from the regular daily activities, Youthwork Managers, Steve and Angie Allgood organise and supervise very successful holiday programmes with a host of activities where our children and young people gain confidence and enrichment and pride in their achievements. We have young people working towards Youth Achievement Awards who also contribute hugely to the success of our activities programmes.

Britannia Village School Britannia Village Primary School is among the top 100 in the country and also boosting the value of our community are a GP surgery, a day care nursery and a multi-use games area on the Village Green which opened in 2011.

London City Airport and DLR

The area around Britannia Village is beautiful: the sun rises over the river Thames, glinting on the iconic structure of the Thames Barrier and sets behind the shining towers of Canary Wharf and the O2 Arena. Dinghies and ducks float across Royal Victoria Dock and Thames Barrier Park and Lyle Park buzz with life all year round. Also on our doorstep are London City Airport and the Docklands Light Railway - an attraction in itself.

There is growth and opportunity - Siemans is building a £30 million landmark Sustainability Centre at the western end of Royal Victoria Dock which is due to open in 2012. There is also talk of a cable car high above the river Thames linking the neighbouring Olympics venues - the ExCeL exhibition and conference centre with the O2 Arena.

Since May 2007, the Britannia Village Hall has been managed by the charity West Silvertown Village Community Foundation which is run by local residents and business volunteers with an interest in their community.

Our mission is to REACH people from all the diverse backgrounds in the West Silvertown area, enabling us to live in harmony and unity.

We aim to provide excellent services and facilities that will:

Relieve people in need and hardship

Encourage healthy living

Advance life-long learning

Celebrate the arts and our rich cultural and historic heritage

Help to create a vibrant and sustainable social and physical environment

The Britannia Village Hall has meeting and event areas of various sizes which are available to hire.
